On 29th Aug i went to Nottinghill carnival with some of my uni friends and it was wicked. cultural, exciting, free and just generally fun. but it was the costumes that i loved looking at the most. originally a local festival set up by the west indian community living in notting hill the event is now HUGE and is a full on Carribean carnival. music and dancing on the streets means that for many its THE event of the year.. and they certainly dont hold back when it comes to costume. an annual thing..i think so.
