Its all about the coat and chunky heels clearly. Opaque tights and never forgetting you flatcap! This collection had a very strong theme and didnt veer off into sub-categories which I really like about it. Capturing the current trend of vibrant color and block colour on block colour in voluminous shapes the items are wearbale AND suitable for the catwalk. Another plus. No wonder celebs were flocking to the front row of this show - I can definitely see Alexa Chung and Kate Bosworth drowning their fashion-forward bodies in one (or twelve) of these beauties.
Fabrics include plaids, fur and piping for the detailing. There was even a hint of Cruella about certain pieces as we saw in Unique, although slightly less brazen. Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey took inspiration from ’60s chic with the addition of a HUGE array of chunky wedges that I would LOVE to get my hands on and retro silhouettes. Ever one step ahead the collection has a contemporary edge. Well worth the wait.
