I just couldn't help myself. This Vogue Italia shoot by Sølve Sundsbø (a new photographer to me and one I am most certainly planning to research further!) features a completely out of this world Melissa Tammerijn - dreamy and alluring in a fairytale styled shoot that almost looks like the pictures of a story book. I watched Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland again the other day - I would love to be able to blame it on the fact that I was babysitting but it was actually after the children had gone to bed. I think I will be forever obsessed. The styling still amazes me and the art direction of the film captures everything about Wonderland, the story and a fairytale land that I imagine.
This shoot reminds me of it to a certain degree. Here, romantic clothing designed by Valentino the images are styled by Patti Wilson and capture the chiffon-esque, floaty trend of the season. Lace and netting along with a pale complexion and muted tones make this shoot eery and complexed without being intimidating. I love the setting and the camera angles effect on the poses...why is she sitting in a circle in the second to last pose? Who knows but i like it!
