Vivid Sydney

On Friday we went to the opening night of Vivid Sydney in Circular Quay. Its an annual event and consists of light sculptures in the city, like up nightly for 2 weeks at the end of May / beginning of June. These installations are from Sydney Opera House, around Circular Quay and throughout The Rocks. Some of the designs include a giant sketchpad, oversized crystal spiderweb, life-size rainbow men, and a cluster of fireflies to encourage punters from all walks of life to engage with light in all its forms.
The highlight event is Lighting the Sails - the projection of designs on the Opera House. French art and design collective Superbien has created the designs this year - light and colour in a 3D display. It was a lovely atmosphere and I definitely want to visit it again before it leaves the city - the Opera House looked gorgeous and the area was buzzing.
