This show was totally different to any that I had seen up until this point. It was really dark in the Cargo theatre and the runway was in the shape of a cross. Models walked around the room and each one was showcasing their swimwear items for longer than any other show that I attended. This was really effective as it meant that there were a large number of models parading at the same time, and each entering from the 3 doorways leading onto the catwalk from backstage. So despite the layout of the seating being somewhat bizarre, I can't imagine anyone not having a good view or a chance to see each and every piece. The whole show was fast moving and there were 5 models on at once, 24 models that I counted altogether - this is a feature that I particularly admired from certain designers as I think that using models more than once in one runway collection is quite distracting. The models were completely drenched in shimmering tan and I saw them backstage before in their protective toga-type gowns so as not to get any of the body makeup on the designs. The hair was long and straight and accessories were gold. The feel was somewhat Brazilian and there were some truely striking statement pieces.
Feathers were a key feature and the last model to walk on wore an enormous, eye-catching set of wings. The designs themselves, I'm not sure I could tell you about in confidence but the show was certainly one to remember.
