Topshop has recently gone global. Last Saturday, Topshop, the famous British high-street brand set up a store-away-from-store and jumped on the pop-up shop band wagon seen by so many brands over the past couple of years. They vacationed in America in The Hamptons! With a host of lovely summer pieces from the new New York store, beach side snacks, scrumptious cocktails and an amazing line-up, New York's coolest girls were out in full force to join in the Topshop fun. Mia Moretti and Annette Ramos hit the decks while Open Ocean and Savoir Adore played live for our listening pleasure. The event sounds like a fantastic form of promotion and we are sure there was much talk about it over in the US, especially after the recent marketing campaigns that the brand has been embarking upon in the fashion capital New Yor. The previous week saw the London team cycling around the city on kitsch bicycles making the general public aware of the new store launch!
Honestly..it reminds me of the Jack Wills expansion to America. Obviously it works so why not jump on the band wagon but I cant help thinking that Ive seen it all before...? Perhaps its because for the 4 years I worked for JW I will always feel some form of loyalty. Even so, Topshop is a brand that won't go unoticed and doesnt deserve to either!
