Last week I got invited through work to the fabulous launch party of author Amanda Cole's new girly read 'Who Needs Prince Charming'. The book is a collaboration of words from inspiring and successful women from all over Australia and includes tips on life, love and practical advice on how to get what you want from your own journey.
The nature of the book was refelected in the oh-so-chic and fantastically feminine event that supported its launch. Sales helped to raise money for the Sister2Sister charity program and the launch was sponsored by a whole host of recognised names including Estee Lauder, Bio Oil, Galliano (for the complimentary cocktail bar) and Wethers Originals.
Held in Cody Photography Studio in trendy Surry Hills, the open plan studio space was an arty and appropriate location for the clientelle in attendance.
Cameron James make-up design set up a makeover station for guests to pamper themselves and look gorgeous for the evening, and I have to say, everyone looked amazing. Fashionistas and pr personalities galore the guestlist was full of influential individuals in the Sydney fashion, beauty and media industry, hopefully giving the book the level of publicity that it deserved.
Complimentary mini cupcakes...delicious!
Espresso flavoured cocktails curtosy of Galliano
An exotic looking cocktail bar set up in the photography studio
Make up station for a quick-fix
Goody bags with a copy of I Hate Cinderella and a bag of toffees...perfect night in?
I had a wonderful evening and took a friend along to enjoy the festivities. We indulged in the complimentary coktails cutrosy of Galliano and served by two handsome barmen - the apple and ginger beer flavoured one is potentially my new favorite tipple! The perfect evening for networking and being sociable. Thank you to Amanda for the invite and the chance to be a part of the night. Watch this space for the book review!
