Flicking through images of Paris Fashion week this month, the chance for designers to showcase their AW 12 collections to the industry's most influential, iconic and irritatingly stylish, one of the main street style trends that I noticed was the combination of yellow and green. Whether it be floral or block colour, this team of colour was seemingly, everywhere. Very springlike indeed! I love the image below of the bright yellow bag, floral trousers and oversized relaxed blazer, proving that if yellow isn't your colour, it can still be worn. Gorgeous.

Chanel's Metier d'Art 2012. Three French Hens.
French elegance teamed with Indian opulence is how I would sum up the look created by the Chanel Metier d'Art show last week. Guests were seated at a fabulously laid table adorned with onion bahjis and 3 foot towers of roses.
Famous faces in the model line-up included Stella Tennant as pictured below walking with Karl Lagerfeld himself, and mother and daughter combination Yasmin and Amber le Bon. The line, titled Métiers d'Art, was launched eight years ago to showcase French craftsmanship, then under threat as the number of couture houses fell.
Consequently, the look included Indian-inspired embellishments : bindis, beads, garlands and luxurious fabrics. Models wore flat shoes only and sported a hair style that is claimed to have taken the styling team two full days to complete!
Items featured included jewelled coats with faux-fur, silk jodhpurs (nodding towards the classic French influence) and gold tweed jackets, in which the tweed was an embroidered trompe l'oeil. Jackets were teamed with long draped skirts and leather stockings to add a modern feel to it.

Lagerfeld's famous words ; "fantasy is better than reality" completely comes into practice within this beautiful collection.

Set for success or placed on the path of destruction..?
Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau is certainly a fascinating little creature. Emerging into our fashion imagery the fresh French face is undeniably beautiful at such a young age. Only ten years old. the beautiful child will surely be one to watch in terms of future fashion forecasting. Lets just pray she doesn't follow the oh-so destructive child star path that has captured many before her. Considering the growing popularity of high end fashion collections in kidswear as I have previously blogged about (the Lanvin campaign being particularly poignant to my research) is this trend set to be the next big thing..? Only time will tell.

..'its almost more Longchamp than Longchamp.'

Is it just me or is everyone feeling this collaboration vibe at the moment!? hollan and debenhams, grande and Prada and now Kate and Longcamp are jumping on the band wagon. and i have to sa, its classic, sophisticaed and oh-so Longchamp!
Kate Moss became the face of Longchamp eight seasons ago and since then the endorsement has risen to be one of fashion's most alluring and enduring partnerships. As a development of the business partnership Moss has directed her design passion towards the Longchamp accessories collection and launched her own.

As promotion and to celebrate the launch of her first 'Kate Moss for Longchamp' signature collection, Kate Moss hosted an exclusive Parisian party in the surroundings of The Ritz Club. More than 700 guests attended the party with a "Rock 'n' Glam" décor of zebra stripes referencing the codes of Kate Moss'. The collection is quirky and edgy and in my opinion just what Longchamp needed as a little revamp and publicity. infact, its almost more Longchamp than Longchamp!

Everthing about the promotion for this range is my ideal fashion advertising. The party, the website layout, the behind the scenes videos...its my dream to be involved with something like this and i have decided to use the videos as examples of inspiration within my report for the backstage videos created by Bec Johnson on the 11th March. I also love the way that Moss has branded herself within the videos and want to try to create something similar myself.. that can be next terms project! check out what im talking about via the link below:

Through the Looking Glass

I mentioned these last month before they were displayed but the windows are up at Parisian deartment store Printemps. Their spring display fits perfectly with our fairytale wonderlands theme project and takes Disneys Alice in Wonderland to high end fashion by dressing her in Christopher Kane, Haider Ackermann and Alexander McQueen, and a rabbit's head.

Alice in Window Winderland by Nicholas Kirkwood

Ive just come across these images on stle.com of Nicholas Kirkwood’s Alice in Wonderland-inspired heels, made on commission for the French department store Printemps, which is giving over its windows to all things Alice through March.I got so excited that i screamed. HOW similar is the Alice dress to our own interpretation! bang on I reckon. The windows are on view through March 14 at Printemps, 64 Boulevard Haussmann, Paris...tepted; i thnk so!
