Young Australian Designers Market: Paddington

Young Australian Designers Market width=

Last weekend I went on the hunt for some fresh Australian design talent in the Young Australian Designers Market in Paddington Town Hall. It was a lovely boutiquey venue offering emerging and recently launching young designers the chance to showcase their collections to the general public. This event only runs the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of each month and therefore I was quick to get involved when I realised it was the 3rd Saturday in March and I'd missed the last one.

There were some gorgeous items present, the one that stood out to me was an innovative product that consisted of 'shoe jewellery'. The product looked like a broch and came in a variety of different shapes, sizes and styles and was designed to be attached to any pair of shoes, instantly updating a plain design to make it look new and tailor it to a specific outfit or look.

Versatile and easy to use, the pieces could also be worn as broaches and attached to clothing, bags or accessories. I thought it was a pretty cool idea and it s stuck with me above most of the other stalls. Gorgeous as they were most of the clothing was reminiscent of many other stands present in Bondi and Paddington markets each week. Not that I'm complaining..its a weekly ritual for me these days!
