Vintage, grandma chic is the phrase that I have used to describe the show in my notes from last week. The closing show of day 2, this one like Carl Kapp, created something different and unique within a simple catwalk show. The music used created a huge contrast to the style and design of the clothing but it worked in a way that said; 'we're bringing grandma chic back..and we're making it cooler than ever.' It was a busy and creative performance and the models had attitude beyond what I had seen before. They carried old records as an accessory and wore chuky bangles and jewellery along with little ankle socks in sheer fabrics and heels that was conservative and sexy at the same time! Lace and feathers were used in contrast to leopard print pattern on a select few items. The same outfits were showcased in a selection of pastel colours and each design story was separated in gorups of models for the finale as shown in the video. Brilliant close to the day!

I was too busy with the fast-paced nature of the show to take many photos but this was my favorite chapter of the Marnie Skillings SS 11story!
