Last Tuesday on the 12th July I attended the launch party of Young Republic with Chic Petite, the fashion events company that I am working with whilst here in Sydney. Unfortunately I couldn't be there for the day to help set up and was only able to go along and help after work, but the event itself was a huge success. Young Republic is Australia’s first interactive marketplace and supports upcoming and new independent designers. Incase I havent mentioned this before..a thousand times..this is the area of the fashion industry that am particularly in love with. Finding, supporting and helping new talent establish themselves within the fashion industry is what I believe influential professionals should focus upon in order to see the fashion world develop and geow. Young Republic is home to a rang of fashion, jewellery, homewares, art & lifestyle brands just starting out in the Australian market.
Chic Petite worked with Young Republic to set up a night market in Aurora Bar in the city centre. Designers showcased and sold to a guestlist of attendees whilst they sipped on champagne and cocktails. The designers were able to participate in a fashion photo shoot during the day featuring models from IKON model management. Later a fashion installation displaying mens and womenswear designers created an innovative alternative to the traditional catwalk show. Designers featuring included : Casper&Pearl, Sovii, Das Monk, Evyie and Kid. Media reporters and photographers were members on the guestlist and all in all the event seemed to be a huge success. Congrats to Sharon and the Chic Petite team and toYoung Republic for a fantastic launch to a business venture that is sure to go from strength to strength.
