Meadham Kirchhoff
This is a CRAZY collection, and from the reviews that I've read the show itself and the aspects surrounding it were no exception. Held at the Topshop space in Old Billingsgate Market, the space had been decorated with large shrines with chicken wire fences, dead flowers, haphazardly scrawled signs, and faded photos. To me, this sounds ever-so Jack Wills VM BUT I'm pretty sure thats
not what Kirchhoff was going for within the design aesthetics.
Music included Madonna’s ‘What It Feels Like to Be a Girl’ to launch the show and was followed by a sinister mix of sounds seemingly straight off
The Shining soundtrack.
Multi hemmed skirts and apron dresses were key design attributes and the classic winter red and black colours made the look witchy and eery. Plenty of texture surrounded each and every item and the collection included menswear which excites me for researching tomorrows shows! Almost China-doll like the models had ringlets and porceline make-up that accentuated the bold, striking tone in the garments. The hats and floral accessories made me think of some sort of crazy Madhatters garden party. Almost like the attendees each had a screw loose.
One things for sure, the collection certainly stands out!
